1) Download and install a 30 day trial of AutoCAD 2012 (free) from
this link.
(may be slow, depending on traffic)
5) Start immediately. Work your way through the first five
modules, saving your drawings in the sub-folder named "Lab Exercises". 6) Register online to become a CCI student. The total cost of the AutoCAD 2D course is $395.00 You will get a student ID # and an instructor assigned to you (c/w unlimited online support). Although you are allowed up to four months to complete all 41 modules, you can work at your own pace, completing it much quicker if you prefer. 7) Once you're a registered student, and have downloaded the full set of modules (your instructor will explain how), you simply continue on with the remainder of your AutoCAD 2D course, using the same folders and templates. 8) If you need to purchase a student version of AutoCAD (the 30 days allowed for the trial software is typically not enough time to complete the course for part-time students), just let your instructor know, and he/she will have an authorization letter sent to you so that you can purchase a 5 year license from an authorized reseller (the total cost is approx. $180) 9) The 6th module is a "mail in" module (a Competency Test). It's a Lab Exercise without an answer key that can only be marked by your assigned instructor (all other Lab Exercises have answer keys so that you can check your progress). Once you've been enrolled, your instructor will show you how to take the Competency Test Quiz online (you get your marks back immediately) and how to submit your Competency Test drawing to be marked. There are a total of 41 modules (8 of these are Competency Tests) 10) If you are interested in earning an AutoCAD Operator
Certificate, you will need to complete two courses: Remember... registered students get unlimited
online support (sorry, support is not offered to those trying the course
for free) |
