As mentioned earlier in our Learning Materials,
approx. every
fifth module is a Competency Test module. A Competency module tests your competency of the previous five modules. After you complete the
Competency Test module on your own, your score will be displayed on screen
and your grade automatically sent to your instructor to be
reviewed. Competency Test modules are there for you to test yourself, and
to inform
your instructor on how you are progressing and understanding the course material.
You will also find Pretest Modules where applicable. Pretest Modules are practice exams that allow you to test your skill level at that point in the course, or possibly at the end of the course. They are comprised of multiple choice questions and a Lab Exercise. If you can successfully complete them in the time allowed, then you are well prepared for the exam. If you want to use your course as credit towards a Certificate, you must write the Final Exam. The Final Exam requires you to complete drawings using AutoCAD (or Inventor) combined with multiple choice questions. It is an open book exam with a time limit. The exam will take approximately 2-3 hours to complete. You will be required to find a Proctor (Invigilator) to supervise while you write the exam. Your proctor must be an engineer, architect or other professional; a lawyer or other court official; a minister or other church official in a church or religious community; a professional educator, teacher, instructor, lecturer or professor in an accredited public school system, junior college, technical institute or university member; a member of a military, municipal, provincial or federal police force. The proctor may not be a close personal friend or a member of your family. Any exception must be approved by your instructor, who may request an alternate proctor. When you are ready to write your exam, complete the Proctor Form on our website. Once your proctor is approved, the final exam will be sent to him/her by e-mail. Your proctor does not need to know how to use AutoCAD (or Inventor). |
